"Honestly, they need better dirty tricks. The attack on 'everyone is Hitler' is already so worn out," Musk wrote on platform X, which he owns.

The billionaire attached to the post his earlier statement, in which he announced his support for the Republican Party, despite having previously voted for the Democrats.

Controversial gesture at the rally

During a speech at Capital One Arena, Musk thanked Americans for enabling Donald Trump's return to the White House. During the appearance, he pounded his chest twice and extended his arm with an open hand.

"This is what victory tastes like. It wasn't an ordinary victory; it was a turning point on the path of human civilization. My heart is with you. Thanks to you, the future of civilization is secured," said Musk.

Musk's gesture was noticed by media worldwide and interpreted as "fascist" or "Nazi." A CNN journalist covering the event described the gesture as a "strangely looking salute."
