Supermodel and actress Elle Macpherson has released a book where she opens up about her past. Her admissions about battling alcohol addiction and rejecting traditional breast cancer treatment have sparked media attention. Outraged doctors have also voiced their concerns.

Elle Macpherson is an Australian model and television star. She has acted in several movies, including "Batman & Robin," "The Edge," "The Mirror Has Two Faces," and her latest project, the series "The Beautiful Life: TBL." In her youth, she dated Billy Joel. As one of the top models of the '90s, she is now back with a book that has already stirred quite a reaction.

The 60-year-old star revealed that there was a time in her life when, after putting her kids to bed, she would drink vodka every day and then induce vomiting. Fans were also shocked to learn that she was diagnosed with breast cancer seven years ago. In the book, she explains her decision to reject all conventional cancer treatments.

After her diagnosis, Elle was advised that the best and most recommended course of action was a mastectomy, followed by chemotherapy, radiation, hormone therapy, and finally breast reconstruction surgery. After consulting with 32 doctors, she decided to forgo traditional treatment methods under the care of qualified physicians. She made the controversial decision to use unconventional treatment methods, which she calls a "holistic, intuitive approach."

Doctors' anger

Her rejection of treatment and public discussion about it have enraged doctors. "Incredibly irresponsible from Elle Macpherson: Holistic therapy is NOT valid treatment for breast cancer. So entitled that a multimillionaire with access to best healthcare advises women to ignore medical advice," wrote Dr. David Robert Grimes, a cancer biology specialist, on platform X. And he is not alone in this opinion.
