Elderly man stumbles upon €10,000 on Christmas Day walk, turns it over to Italian police

The Ansa agency reported this unusual discovery by the walker on Saturday.

The banknotes were tightly sealed in a cellophane bag in a forest near the path between small Alpine villages. The elderly man stumbled upon them during his Christmas Day walk.

The walker, however, decided not to keep the package and immediately reported the find to the police.

The officers promptly arrived, securing and examining the package on site. They confiscated the money and investigated why such a large sum was abandoned in the forest. The contents of the bag were confirmed to be 10,000 euros.
