Recently, there has been considerable speculation about a possible face-off between Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX and Tesla, and Facebook's founder, Mark Zuckerberg. While the date of this much-anticipated duel remains unknown, both parties have confirmed that it is indeed set to happen.

However, we might witness another surprising duel involving renowned people from fields unrelated to sport even sooner. The famous singer Ed Sheeran, who has already jokingly challenged a fellow musician to a duel, might step into the boxing ring himself.

The 32-year-old singer recently revealed his newfound love for boxing. Last weekend, he made an appearance at a Matchroom Boxing gala, where he was spotted sitting next to the organization's president, Eddie Hearn.

During an interview with IFL TV, when asked about a possible debut in a boxing match, Ed Sheeran responded that he'd like to give it a go. The conversation eventually led to the subject of a potential opponent.

Ed initially suggested his father as a hypothetical adversary. However, he later playfully nominated another artist, namely Lewis Capaldi.

"I would do it. Lewis, I'm going to really give you a challenge," Ed Sheeran said cheekily, while addressing his potential opponent.

Although the chance of such a fight actually happening is slim, as both singers are good friends and Sheeran's words were likely in jest. But considering his recent boxing training and newfound love for the sport, it is plausible that we might someday see him step into the ring.
