It's hard to imagine a home without a washing machine. After all, we produce piles of laundry every day. Although it might seem that this appliance consumes a lot of electricity and water, the opposite can be true if you know which program is best to use.

Washing machine program that lowers bills

One of the most effective ways to lower bills is to use the ECO mode. According to manufacturers, it uses significantly less water and energy compared to standard settings.

The most important factor here is the washing time. Although the ECO program usually lasts up to four hours, it doesn't mean it costs more. A longer cycle at a lower temperature allows for effective stain removal with minimal resource use.

This is also reflected in the numbers, which washing machine manufacturers are eager to showcase. Some claim that by using the ECO program, we use about 38% less water and 33% less energy compared to the popular cotton program.

Washing at lower temperatures

Using the ECO program offers additional benefits. Remember, clothes washed at high temperatures wear out much faster, and they may shrink or fade. This is why it is crucial to read the label, which contains detailed information about the best washing cycle.

This doesn't mean, however, that following the manufacturer's recommendations will guarantee clothes look great after many washes. That’s why setting the washing machine to low temperatures, which are less damaging to fabrics, can be beneficial.
