Ingredients:

  • 1 oz fresh yeast,
  • 1 teaspoon sugar,
  • 0.53 cups of lukewarm milk,
  • 8.82 oz soft butter,
  • 5.29 oz powdered sugar,
  • 5 eggs,
  • 1.1 lbs of wheat flour,
  • 7.05 oz raisins,
  • 3.53 oz candied orange peel.

Preparation:

Step 1. I kick-start the cake's preparation by creating a yeast leaven. For this, I crumble fresh yeast and combine it with warm milk and sugar in a bowl using a small kitchen whisk.

This mixture is then set aside to rise for 20 minutes before proceeding to the next step of the recipe.

Step 2. I cut the butter into smaller pieces and put them into the mixer bowl. I then add powdered sugar and begin blending the ingredients.

Step 3. The mixer bowl then receives additional ingredients: eggs and flour. To this, I add the previously prepared leaven, dried raisins, and candied orange peel.

Step 4. The dough at this stage is covered and set aside to rise, a process that takes approximately 2 hours.

Step 5. Subsequently, I transfer the dough to a baking form, cover it with plastic wrap and let it rise again, this time for 30 minutes. After this duration, the dough goes into a preheated oven and bakes for 60 minutes at 302 degrees Fahrenheit.
