"Dynasty" star Joan Collins turns 90, teases fans from Barbados

Joan Collins, famed for her role as the iconic Alexis from the cult classic "Dynasty", recently celebrated her 90th birthday. Not one to slow down, she remains active on social media, engaging with her fans regularly. Recently, she hosted an intriguing contest on her profile.

Joan Collins made her big screen debut 72 years ago. Since then, she has featured in numerous films, but the role that truly catapulted her into stardom is that of Alexis Carrington-Colby in the hugely popular soap opera "Dynasty". Spanning eight years, her performance in the series earned her a Golden Globe Award in 1983, and multiple nominations for other prestigious awards, including Emmys.

Despite turning 90 in May, the actress hasn't slowed down. Among other ventures, she has launched her line of cosmetics, eyewear, and wigs. Although she no longer acts in front of the camera, she maintains an active presence on social media, boasting over 400,000 followers on Instagram alone. She recently posted a couple of photos, stylishly donning a black and white wide-brimmed hat, set against a lush, tropical backdrop.

"Guess where I am?" she prompted her followers in one of the posts. The comment section filled with vigorous guessing, suggestions ranged from Saint-Tropez, to the South of France, to Southend-on-Sea in England, and even the Caribbean. The last guess hit the nail on the head.

"Thank you to all who guessed correctly! Yes, it was Barbados and it was fantastic!" she proclaimed in a follow-up post. The accompanying picture flaunted her relaxing in a black-dotted white dress, lounging comfortably.

Joan Collins' love life has been a regular feature in gossip media circles for years. She has been married five times. Her first husband was British actor Maxwell Reed. Years after their divorce, Collins revealed that Reed had once attempted to sell her to an Arab sheikh for 10,000 British pounds.

Latterly, she has been involved with Anthony Newley, Ronald S. Kass, and Swedish singer Peter Holm, although none of these relationships brought her happiness. In 2012, she married theatre manager Percy Gibson, to whom she is still married today.

Collins' alleged affairs have also made headlines. Rumored relationships include Dean Martin, James Dean, George Hamilton, Paul Newman, and Marlon Brando.
