Duchess Kate reveals cancer diagnosis, seeks privacy for treatment
Duchess Kate recently ended weeks of speculation by announcing her diagnosis with cancer. She is in the early stages of treatment. In an emotional revelation, she shared how receiving this news was a "huge shock" and spoke about enduring "an extremely difficult few months".
Despite the challenges, Duchess Kate is optimistic about her health. Kensington Palace shared a heartfelt video on social media where the duchess revealed that she underwent abdominal surgery in January, before her cancer was discovered.
"The tests conducted after the surgery revealed the presence of cancer," the duchess disclosed.
While she didn't specify the type of cancer, she opened up about how her family is coping with this unexpected hurdle.
"Of course, this news was a huge shock. William and I dedicated ourselves to navigate through this challenge alongside our close ones for the sake of our family," Kate expressed.
The Duchess needed time
The need for recovery time post-surgery and to undergo cancer treatment was crucial for Kate. She emphasized putting her children first during this period.
"It was vital to explain everything to George, Charlotte, and Louis in a way they could understand and to reassure them that everything would be fine," the duchess highlighted.
Kate remains passionate about her royal duties and is eager to return to them when possible.
"I hope you understand the necessity for us as a family to now have time, space, and privacy," she concluded.
