Duchess Kate apologizes for missing the Trooping the Colour parade
Duchess Kate has decided to speak out about the Trooping the Colour parade and has apologized for her absence. These are the first public words from Prince William's wife since the announcement of her illness. The media focused on one particular sentence.

The media speculated that Duchess Kate might not appear at the upcoming Colonel's Review, the final rehearsal before the Trooping the Colour parade. It turns out that Prince William's wife will indeed not participate due to her health condition.
Duchess Kate breaks her silence with special online letter
Interestingly, the Duchess decided to personally address the matter. On Tuesday, a post appeared on the Irish Guards' profile revealing the contents of a letter sent to them on behalf of Kate Middleton. The post included photos showing the message sent by William's wife.
The Irish Guards were deeply touched to receive a letter from our Colonel, Her Royal Highness, The Princess of Wales, this morning. We continue to wish Her Royal Highness well in her recovery and send Her our very best wishes, the post read.
Importantly, the media focused on words found in the letter. The Duchess mentioned that she "does hope she can represent them all again soon."
I wanted to write to let you know how proud I am of the entire regiment ahead of the Colonel's Review and Trooping the Colour. I appreciate everyone Trooping this year has been practising for months, and dedicating many hours to ensure their uniforms and drill are immaculate. Being your Colonel remains a great honour, and I am very sorry that I am unable to take the salute at this year's Colonel Review.
