Drunken passenger forces emergency landing on Dubai-Moscow flight
A drunken passenger attempted to break a window on a plane flying from Dubai to Moscow, forcing the crew to make an emergency landing in Baku, reported "The Sun," publishing footage of the shocking scenes on board the plane.
An incident occurred during the flight from Dubai to Moscow. A 38-year-old man named Roman Pakhomov, under the influence of alcohol, tried to break the airplane window with his fist.
According to "The Sun," the initially drunk and agitated Russian was aggressive towards the crew members and other passengers. He shouted and kicked anyone who approached him. The other passengers subdued and restrained the aggressive man with seat belts to his seat.
However, the 38-year-old managed to free himself and started punching the window. The plane's captain then decided on an emergency landing in Baku. After landing, the Russian was detained by Azerbaijani police.
Reports suggest that Pakhomov "went crazy" after consuming alcohol of unknown origin, which he had brought onboard. After sobering up, he didn't remember what he had done.
The plane resumed its flight to Moscow after a delay of two hours and 45 minutes.
The British newspaper noted that this isn't the only such incident recently. A similar event occurred earlier in December, when a drunken passenger forced a landing of a plane flying from Morocco to Glasgow. After an emergency landing in Faro, he was removed from the aircraft by Portuguese police. "The Sun" reports that the man was aggressive and did not respond to crew warnings.
