A horrifying accident took place at the hospital in Austin, Texas. For reasons that are yet unknown, the driver accelerated his car into the emergency room.

The driver was promptly extracted from the wreckage. Sadly, despite swift medical assistance, his life could not be saved. The accident resulted in five injuries. These individuals were patients in the emergency room of St. David’s North Austin Medical Center at the time of the incident.

"At first, I thought it was an explosion. Almost immediately, I heard screams and saw smoke billowing from the emergency room entrance," Stephen Hughes, a witness to the accident, relayed to CNN.

Two of the injured parties are children, one of whom is in critical condition. The remaining eight people present in the emergency room at the time of the accident have been transported to other hospitals in Austin.

Video footage from the accident scene is available on Platform X. The site of the impact inside the emergency room is ghastly.

Officials are still determining the details surrounding the incident. This is affirmed by a social media post from the Austin Police Department.

"Based on preliminary information and details gathered at this juncture, this incident does not appear to have been a deliberate act. APD officers continue to support our partners, and the investigation effort is ongoing," the local police disclosed in a post.
