In recent days, intense battles have been raging in the Donetsk region, notably northwest of Avdiivka. The fighting particularly intensified around the village of Berdyche. A Ukrainian reconnaissance drone captured the footage, as shown below.

The video depicts a Russian BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle being hit by cluster munitions and a kamikaze drone. It bursts into flames and, moments later, is ripped apart by a powerful explosion.

Clashes west of Avdiivka

Russian forces, achieving moderate success, are pressing on with their offensive in the Donetsk region to the west of Avdiivka. They have managed to capture a few towns.

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW), a think tank, reported on Sunday that Putin's forces have likely advanced west of Avdiivka. Geolocated footage suggests that the towns of Tonenke and Newelske have fallen into their hands.

The American analysis regarding the seizure of Newelske by the Russians was corroborated by "Bild" journalist Julian Roepcke.
