As reported by American media, the actor passed away at his home with his wife by his side. He was 75 years old.

Emmy-nominated actor Doug Sheehan specialized in soap operas and was often cast in father roles. He began his career in "Charlie's Angels." Still, his breakthrough came with the role of a lawyer in "General Hospital," a popular American series that has been airing continuously for several decades. Sheehan appeared in over 200 episodes of the show.

In the following years, he played a reporter in the "Dallas" spin-off, "Knots Landing." The ‘90s marked an era where he frequently took on father roles, such as in the series adaptation of "Clueless," the sitcom "Day by Day," and "Sabrina the Teenage Witch." It was on the set of this last series that he made his final on-camera appearance, playing the father who walked Melissa Joan Hart's character down the aisle on Sabrina's wedding day.

His filmography also includes well-known titles like "Columbo," "MacGyver," and "Cheers!"

Fans of the late actor remember him on Twitter, noting that although he hasn't appeared in "General Hospital" for 42 years, viewers still demanded his return and never forgot him.
