Dog was lying next to its owners deceased body for a week. Suddenly a miracle happened
William is an elderly dog who spent a week watching over his owner. When the services took away the deceased, the dog ended up in a shelter. There, the animal became sluggish, distrustful, and aggressive. The shelter authorities planned to euthanize him, but then a miracle happened.
William, a ten-year-old Corgi, had to come to terms with the loss of his owner, who was his whole world. For at least a week, the faithful pet stood by his beloved human's body. He was then taken to a shelter where he was utterly lost. Fortunately, the story ended happily.
He kept watch by the owner's side
William recently went through a real hell. His owner passed away. He lived alone, so his death was discovered only a few days after he died. All this time, William lay by the man's body and watched over him.
Eventually, the services arrived at the scene and secured the body of the deceased. William was taken to a shelter for homeless animals.
Unfortunately, the situation overwhelmed him. The quadruped couldn't find his bearings in the new place. The death of his caretaker and the change of environment turned out to be extraordinarily traumatic for him.
Stress and trauma overwhelmed him
William couldn't cope with the longing and despair. He was devastated and completely lost trust in people. Stress caused William to become increasingly aggressive, believing that he had to defend himself against the outside world.
The dog has become dangerous to both people and animals. The workers decided that such an aggressive and elderly dog no longer has a chance for adoption.
William was therefore placed on the euthanasia list, and his days were supposed to be numbered.
Miracle in William's life
Fortunately, a miracle happened. Local activists learned about William's story. They focus on the rehabilitation of old and aggressive animals on a daily basis. They decided to take care of the elderly dog to give him a chance for a peaceful old age.
Working with the dog had a positive effect, and William realized that strangers are not so bad at all. He opened up more each day. He was also in a better mood.
That's not the end of the good news. A woman contacted the organization that had been taking care of the puppy, expressing her desire to adopt him.
William is now living with his new caregiver and finally can feel loved again.
