Do not tie ribbons on luggage: Airport employee warns travelers
In the peak vacation season and busy airport traffic, travelers often fear losing their luggage and try to mark it noticeably. To this end, they usually tie identification ribbons to their luggage handles or cover their suitcases with stickers. An airport employee warns not to do this under any circumstances.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced that preparations for one of history's most hectic travel seasons are already underway.
This is a clear signal for tourists who, fearing increased traffic and chaos at airports during check-in, are looking for ways to secure their luggage before traveling.
As the number of passengers increases, so does the anxiety associated with the potential loss of items. For many people, tying a piece of ribbon or string is a simple and affordable way to locate their luggage in the baggage hall.
However, an airport employee, quoted by the "DailyMail" portal, warns against such solutions.
Ribbons that people tie onto their suitcases to help identify them can cause issues with the bag being scanned in the baggage hall, says the employee of Dublin airport.
The problem with scanning luggage can result in delays in getting the luggage on the plane, as the suitcase will have to be searched manually.
A similar problem occurs with suitcase stickers, which can also disrupt scanner reading. Removing any stickers before traveling and cleaning the spot on the suitcase is best.
