To prepare scrambled eggs, only a few ingredients are necessary. All you really need are eggs and a little fat, although this second ingredient is crucial. It significantly influences the taste of the entire dish. But can you skip it?

What fat to use for scrambling eggs?

When scrambling eggs, you usually need a non-stick pan and some fat. Culinary experts agree that the best scrambled eggs are made with butter. Clarified butter is preferable because regular butter isn't ideal for frying due to its low smoke point, which means it can burn easily.

Fat not only gives scrambled eggs the right consistency but also adds a distinct flavor. Unfortunately, this means that even a small amount can significantly increase the meal's calorie content, and not everyone can handle fried foods.

How to scramble eggs without fat?

Surprisingly, it's simpler than you might think. Start by pouring a little water into the pan, bring it to a boil, and then add the eggs. The rest of the process is the same as with traditional scrambled eggs. While they're not technically fried, the eggs are boiled or steamed, yet they still taste great and cook quickly.
