In the case of the Main Station in Berlin, Deutsche Bahn received an email around 9 p.m. Eastern Time. The police increased their forces at the station and checked the situation. It was ultimately determined that passengers were not in danger.
According to Berlin police, RTL station and Willy-Brandt-Haus (the headquarters of the federal SPD party) in the capital also received threats. The state criminal police (LKA) were called to the scene, reports the portal tagesschau.de.
The editorial office of ARD television in Hamburg, where the news program Tagesschau is produced, also received such a letter. In Weimar, a broadcasting center with several radio stations was evacuated after being notified of a bomb threat. "However, the police did not find any suspicious items, and the explosives detection dog did not react. Earlier, an email with threats signed 'Hamas' was received," reports Tagesschau.
Threats were received in several schools in Bavaria. The police reported such incidents in schools in Bayreuth and Hollfeld in Upper Franconia, in a school in Straubing, and in Friedberg in Swabia. Police evacuated the schools or turned back students and teachers before they could enter. Schools were then searched to exclude any threats.
On Monday, such incidents affected schools in Augsburg, Regensburg and Cham (Bavaria), Karlsruhe and Mannheim (Baden-Württemberg), Solingen and Wuppertal (North Rhine-Westphalia), Chemnitz (Saxony) and Thuringia's capital Erfurt. The ZDF station in Mainz was also briefly evacuated due to a bomb threat.
