Discover the simple hack to dry dishes perfectly
Do you often find water left on cups, bowls, and glasses after running the dishwasher? If this sounds familiar, we have a simple solution. There's a trick that works with most dishwashers.
Accumulated water can be a nuisance for several reasons. When you remove dishes from the upper rack, the dripping water often wets those on the bottom, resulting in every item needing to be wiped by hand. This makes using the dishwasher more work than anticipated, defeating its purpose of saving time.
Water in dishes in the dishwasher - a common issue for many
When removing dishes, water can splash onto clothes, the floor, cabinets, or kitchen countertops. Even though it's clean water, using a dishwasher reduces work, not adds to it. One typical solution is to remove the bottom rack first. However, there's a more effective way to prevent this issue.
There's no need for temporary solutions; a method can be applied to nearly every dishwasher. What should you do? Check if additional wheels are on the sides of the upper dishwasher rack. These wheels are easy to spot as they are not part of the rail.
How to address the issue simply
If your dishwasher has wheels allowing height adjustment of the upper rack, start by emptying the appliance. Pull the upper rack as far as possible and gently lift it from the front to release the front wheel. Then, hold the rack steady, pull it further out until the rear wheel is at the end of the rail, and lift the rack from the front again to release it.
You're nearly halfway there. After releasing the first two wheels, slide the rack back in, placing the top wheel you identified on the rail. Slide the rack in until the second wheel is on the rail.
Now, you can confidently complete the task. Ensure the rack is properly aligned on the rail by checking its stability side-to-side and up-and-down. If it's stable, you can load the dishes and enjoy a wash cycle without water lingering on them.
