Zac Efron, known for his role in "High School Musical" as a charming teenager, has made some changes as he grew into adulthood. These changes are not just related to the roles he's chosen, but also to his physical transformation.

While preparing for his role in "Baywatch", Efron significantly increased his muscle mass. Given the nature of the production and his predominantly minimal costume, this was a necessity. Additionally, working alongside Dwayne Johnson, renowned for his bodybuilder physique, likely intensified his gains.

Working with Johnson might have inspired Efron. A trailer for the film "The Iron Claw", in which Efron portrays a professional wrestler, reflects his increased weight and broader musculature.

In "The Iron Claw", Efron plays a legendary wrestler, known as Kevin Von Erich, rather than Dwayne Johnson, who is also a famous former wrestler.

The film will introduce audiences to the story of a family for whom wrestling was more than just a profession. Kevin's father, Fritz Von Erich, was a professional wrestler. He was born as Jack Adkisson but found his greatest successes under his wrestling name. Despite the audience despising his Nazi character portrayal in the wrestling ring during the 1950s and 1960s, he himself was highly popular.

Five of Fritz's six sons followed in their father's footsteps and became wrestlers. However, their tale is marked by tragedies. A staggering five of the Von Erich sons died prematurely. Jack was only six when he died, David was 25 and presumably overdosed on painkillers, Kerry committed suicide at the age of 33, Mike overdosed on sleeping pills at 23, and Chris died by suicide at 21. Kevin Von Erich is the sole survivor, who celebrated his 66th birthday this year.

"The Iron Claw" is set to hit theaters on December 22, 2023.
