Rumors of the planned story expansion for Diablo 4 have been floating around for several months. The official confirmation finally arrived at BlizzCon, revealing that Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred, promises some intriguing content. However, fans will still have to wait for a considerable period before its launch.

Firstly, the DLC's main antagonist is revealed to be Mephisto. Players will gain access to the region named Nahantu and explore familiar terrains like the Docks of Kurast or Travincal, presented in a new context. Blizzard has also released a short trailer for the DLC.

A notable feature of the DLC is the introduction of an entirely new character class. However, specific details about this new class remain scarce. A less exciting detail is the waiting period. With a release planned for the end of 2024, Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred will be available on Xbox One, Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC.

In the presentation, Blizzard also teased other new features. For instance, on November 7, five unique rings for individual classes will be added to Diablo 4, invigorating gameplay with powers known from the Season of the Plague.

One event, still some ways away but noteworthy, is the Winter Plague event. It is scheduled to begin on December 12 and will run for a full three weeks.
