Jennifer Aniston along with the rest of the "Friends" cast attended Matthew Perry's funeral. Her connection with the late actor was special, as they were the youngest among the cast members of the series. In fact, their friendship dates back even before they landed their iconic roles on the show.

A private ceremony was held to bid farewell to Matthew Perry, where his loved ones, including the cast of the iconic series "Friends", came together. Clad in black, mourners gathered at the Forest Lawn Church of the Hills in Los Angeles, located directly opposite the Warner Bros Studios where the popular sitcom, which catapulted Perry to fame, was filmed for 10 seasons.

Several other celebrities, including Carrie Fisher and Marilyn Monroe, share the same final resting place in the cemetery where Perry was laid to rest.

A glimpse into Matthew Perry's funeral

Reports from foreign media suggest that the funeral ceremony concluded with a performance of Peter Gabriel's song "Don’t Give Up". The lyrics of the song include:

"It seems there is no end to the fight / I am a man whose dreams have all deserted / changed my face, changed my name, but no one wants you when you lose".

Internet users have interpreted parts of this text as a powerful commentary on Perry's public battle with drug and alcohol addiction. The actor openly discussed his struggles and also detailed them in his autobiography, which was published last year.

Deeply Affected, Jennifer Aniston Attends The Funeral

"Daily Mail" reported that Jennifer Aniston was one of the earliest to arrive at Perry's funeral. During the hour-long ceremony, she maintained her distance from others. She was later joined by Lisa Kudrow, Courtney Cox, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc outside the church.

Aniston and Perry’s bond had begun before they even started working on "Friends". They had feelings for each other, but Aniston eventually turned down his advances. Over time, they became good friends and Aniston was a strong pillar of support for him during his struggle with drug addiction.

No one has shed more tears for Matthew at the darkest moments of his struggle with addiction than Jennifer - revealed a close friend of the actress to DailyMail.com.

Following the filming of a special episode of "Friends" in 2021, Aniston believed Perry had overcome his worst days. However, his death just two years later was a heart-rending shock to her.
