Speaking from Warsaw, Rasmussen expressed concern about the article, emphasizing that allies should not spy on each other. He stated that the issue is very serious, warranting a conversation with the US ambassador at the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The minister expressed hope that these claims would be refuted, while also highlighting Denmark’s intent to present its position on the matter clearly.

This is a very serious matter, which is why we will summon the ambassador for a discussion at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We certainly hope that this statement can be refuted, but in any case, we want to clearly present Denmark's position on this issue, said Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen.

Does Trump want to take over Greenland?

According to the "Wall Street Journal," American intelligence agencies have been tasked with gathering information about the independence movement in Greenland and its views on American resource exploitation on the island.

The report also indicates that these agencies are to identify individuals in Greenland and Denmark who support American claims to the island, which is an autonomous territory of Denmark.

President Donald Trump has repeatedly expressed interest in controlling Greenland, citing security concerns. He has not ruled out the possibility of using force to take over the island.
