Chicken Gyros Baked Baguette
A baked baguette with garlic will disappear from the plates faster than you expect. It is much more filling than the one with just mushrooms. Although we may think of salad when we hear "gyros," no one will miss the salad after trying this baked baguette.
Ingredients:
- 1 chicken breast fillet
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- 1.5 tablespoons gyros seasoning
- ½ onion
- ½ red bell pepper
- 5 ounces mushrooms
Other ingredients:
- 2 garlic baguettes
- 3.5 ounces shredded mozzarella
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 tablespoons canned corn
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
Preparation:
Step 1: Cut the chicken breast fillet into medium-sized cubes. Add the vegetable oil and gyros seasoning, and mix well.
Step 2: Finely dice the mushrooms, onion, and red bell pepper. Sauté the chicken in a pan, add the chopped vegetables and mushrooms, and cook the entire mixture until done.
Step 3: Press and roll out the garlic baguettes using a rolling pin to flatten them. They should be flat enough so the filling doesn't fall off.
Step 4: Place the flattened baguettes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese and bake for 15 minutes in an oven preheated to 340°F.
Step 5: Place the sautéed chicken mixture on the baguettes after baking. Sprinkle with canned corn and chopped parsley, then drizzle with ketchup. Gyros baked baguette tastes best when hot. Enjoy your meal!
