Russian attacks in the Avdiivka area are conducted with significant forces. Tanks and mechanized units participate in them, but the mistakes made by the Russians and the capabilities of the Ukrainian artillery cause the attackers to suffer very serious losses. An example of this is the massacre that met one of the Russian columns.

Russian attacks in the Awdijiwka region do not bring the aggressors significant successes, but lead to very heavy losses. The "second army of the world", as the Russians themselves called their armed forces for years, is again showing signs of incompetence, as in the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine.

An example is the fate of one of the armored-mechanized columns, which was blocked because the leading tank fell into a hole and overturned, preventing the passage of the following vehicles.

A significantly worse fate befell another of the Russian columns, which first got stuck on mines, and then came under fire from Ukrainian artillery.

The losses turned out to be very serious - based on available photographs and recordings, it was estimated that the Russians could have lost in that area even 15 tanks, 33 infantry fighting vehicles, as well as several artillery systems, cars, and other vehicles.

Adam Świerkowski from the Defence24 service conducted an analysis of video materials documenting the massacre of a Russian column.

The Russians have not abandoned the operation of individual vehicles in the open field, the result of which was the destruction of the MT-LB transporter by an FGM-148 Javelin anti-tank guided missile.

MT-LB Artillery Tractor

The MT-LB is a real workhorse of armies that belonged to the Warsaw Pact in the past. It was designed as an artillery tractor - armored, amphibious vehicle, intended for towing 100 mm caliber anti-tank guns MT-12.

The vehicle is 21 feet long, 7.9 feet wide and can accommodate up to 10 people plus a two-person crew. In the basic version, it is symbolically armored (0.1-0.4 inches) and weighs just under 13.2 tons.

The ability to float, very high mobility, reliability and a large modernization potential resulted in the MT-LB receiving dozens of versions and being used in countless roles, such as command vehicles, technical support, medical evacuation, or contamination reconnaissance.

During the war in Ukraine, it is being used by both sides, serving both as an artillery tractor and as a transporter or improvised combat vehicle. The MT-LB also forms a base for countless grassroots modifications, consisting of adding various weapons.
