The Russians struck the northernmost district of Kharkiv, called Saltivka. This is a residential area that was severely damaged during Russian attacks on the city in 2022.

"People may still be under the rubble; emergency services are operating at the scene," wrote Oleh Synyehubov, head of the regional military administration, on Telegram.

The Russians dropped eight FAB-250 bombs on Kharkiv today, reported the War News portal, citing city authorities.

According to Synyehubov, these were guided aerial bombs. "They hit a nine-story building, a civilian enterprise, and an open area," he explained.

The President of Ukraine also commented on the attack. "The target of Russian bombs was a residential building, a bakery, a stadium. In other words, the daily life of ordinary people. Russia is a terrorist and proves this every day with its actions, choice of warfare, and attempts to expand it," wrote Volodymyr Zelensky on X.

Ukraine calls for further arms deliveries

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal commented on the attack on Kharkiv, stating that Russia deliberately terrorizes this city.

"Russia deliberately terrorizes Kharkiv. It terrorizes other peaceful cities. We call on our partners to provide more air defense systems, and more missiles. We count on the courage in making decisions that will allow us to strike military targets on enemy territory with Western weapons. This is necessary to protect people's lives," the Prime Minister stated.
