The "Siren" plan involves a series of special measures directed at police officers and other security agencies. It is designed to quell riots in populated areas, apprehend criminal groups, and search for and arrest armed and particularly dangerous criminals.

As reported by the Mash channel, the assault on the special unit took place overnight from Sunday to Monday. "Two officers were pronounced dead at the scene, while another succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. The assailants made off with service weapons, AKM assault rifles, and ammunition," the channel reports, also sharing photos of the suspected attackers.

Additionally, RIA Novosti confirms that two policemen were fatally wounded on the scene, and a third officer, critically injured, was rushed to the hospital.

Around midnight, residents of Karachayevsk were startled awake by sounds resembling gunshots.

"It was later discovered that a group of criminals ambushed three on-duty police officers, resulting in two immediate fatalities. The officers were caught so off-guard they didn't have time to reach for their weapons," a victim’s nephew told the Readovka portal.

The number of attackers and their escape route remain unknown to the authorities.
