David Lammy urges allies' bold support as Ukraine conflict deepens
David Lammy, British Foreign Minister, emphasized the importance of courage and determination among Ukraine's allies in the face of the ongoing conflict. According to Lammy, Ukraine should now be allowed to use the weapons provided to it to attack targets inside Russia.

In his speech at the annual Labor Party conference in Liverpool, which began on Sunday, David Lammy warned of the growing challenges related to the war in Ukraine. According to him, these difficulties will be "deeper and harsher," especially as the conflict approaches "the back end of 2025 into 2026."
So this is a critical time for nerve and guts and patience and for fortitude on behalf of allies who stand with Ukraine, Lammy emphasized, which, according to many, was an allusion to the United States. The US fears that allowing Ukraine to use the provided weapons for attacks in Russia could lead to an escalation of the conflict.
Talks with the US regarding Ukraine
Last week, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer met with Joe Biden in Washington, and this issue was certainly one of the topics of discussion. Nonetheless, no decisions have been made so far. On Saturday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky once again appealed to Biden for permission to carry out long-range attacks on Russian territory.
Lammy indicated that talks on this issue are still ongoing. I am not going to as foreign secretary, of course, comment on operational details, because that can only aid Putin. But there is a very real-time discussion across allies about how we can support Ukraine as we head into winter, he said.
The Minister also informed that the United Kingdom and the other G7 countries will take action against Russian disinformation aimed at the Global South. [We will] take on Putin's lies, Lammy emphasized.
