Dakota Johnson handles wardrobe malfunction live on Jimmy Kimmel

During an interview, Dakota Johnson had to handle an unexpected problem. The situation was challenging because the show was live. Nevertheless, she did not interrupt the conversation. "It just fell off," she noted on "Jimmy Kimmel Live."

Dakota Johnson gained international recognition from her leading role in the film adaptations of E.L. James' bestselling novel "Fifty Shades of Grey." She inherited her acting talent from her parents—she is the daughter of Don Johnson, known for his role in the crime series "Miami Vice," and Melanie Griffith, who was nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in the thriller "Nobody's Fool."

Due to the premiere of her latest film, Johnson appeared on the talk show "Jimmy Kimmel Live." During the conversation, an unexpected situation occurred involving her dress.

Wardrobe "malfunction" on live show

The 34-year-old appeared on the show to discuss the production "Daddio," in which she stars alongside Sean Penn. After host Jimmy Kimmel showed viewers a clip from the movie, the audience observed a peculiar situation.

The actress began nervously adjusting the decorative strap of her dress, which—as it turned out—had snapped, something the host noted. "Your dress just came unhooked. Are you okay?" Kimmel asked.

"My dress — it just fell off," Johnson responded with a laugh.

"I’ll just hold it," she added, holding her outfit in her hands as she continued the conversation.

Not the first mishap of this kind

As "People" magazine reminds us, this is not Johnson's first wardrobe mishap on television. In 2022, the actress had difficulty sitting in a tight red mini-dress during an appearance on James Corden's show.

When the host asked if she needed to borrow his jacket, she joked that everything was fine. "Well, it's not like nobody here hasn't already seen my boobs," she added, referring to the intimate scenes from the "Fifty Shades of Grey" film series.
