It's not just the domain of professional pastry chefs, as simple holiday decorations can be crafted by anyone, regardless of their art class grades. Adorable cupcakes will bring smiles to faces, adding to the festive mood.

Cupcake decorating

Holiday decorating often involves gingerbread cookies, but cupcakes offer a delightful canvas for your imagination and culinary creativity. With colorful candies, marshmallow shapes, icing pens, and buttercream, you can instantly bring the magic of the holidays to life.

Buttercream is one of the most popular creams used in baking due to its delicate, fluffy texture and sweet taste, which pairs beautifully with many baked goods. Its thick and stable consistency makes it perfect for attaching decorations securely.

Just whip 1/3 to 1/2 cup of real butter with 1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar and 3-4 tablespoons of milk. For a cocoa version, simply add a bit of dark cocoa. It's that easy!

A reindeer, a little snowman, or a snow-covered tree with lights are three simple motifs you can easily create on cupcakes.

Ingredients:

Chain Cupcakes:

  • 2 vanilla cupcakes,
  • buttercream,
  • 2 pieces of milk chocolate,
  • colorful candies.

Snowman Cupcakes:

  • 2 vanilla cupcakes,
  • buttercream,
  • marshmallows,
  • pretzel sticks,
  • red icing pen,
  • 2 pieces of milk chocolate.

Reindeer Cupcakes:

  • 2 chocolate cupcakes,
  • cocoa buttercream,
  • pretzels,
  • biscuits,
  • red candies,
  • sugar eyes.

Instructions:

Chain Cupcakes: Using a pastry bag, pipe a portion of the buttercream. Create a zigzag pattern with melted chocolate as if you're painting a chain. It's easiest to do this with a pastry bag or by pouring the chocolate into a zip-lock bag and cutting a small corner. Finally, add colorful candies as lights, and you're done.

Snowman Cupcakes: Once again, place a portion of buttercream on the cupcake. Place a marshmallow on top and use chocolate to add eyes to the snowman. Insert two pretzel sticks to serve as the snowman's branches and arms.
