Before we delve into the detailed instructions for this recipe, let's first understand what tacos are. This highly popular snack hails from Mexican cuisine and typically consists of a wheat pancake, loaded with colorful vegetables, creamy sauce, and delicious meat. Such an assortment of phenomenal delicacies can satisfy even the pickiest eater!
Ingredients:
For the Tortillas:
- 4 small wheat tortillas,
- 0.33 lbs BBQ sauce,
- 0.33 lbs nacho chips.
For the Extras:
- 0.44 lbs ground beef,
- 1 tablespoon of Mexican seasoning,
- 1 teaspoon salt,
- 4 tablespoons of cream dip, paprika, or cheese,
- 1 romaine lettuce,
- 0.13 lbs corn,
- 0.13 lbs black beans,
- 1/2 red onion,
- 0.09 lbs grated cheddar,
- 4 cherry tomatoes.
Preparation:
Step 1. Begin by preparing the base of the dish: the tortillas. Dip one side of each tortilla into a small bowl filled with BBQ sauce. Note that small-sized tortillas are needed for this recipe. You can either purchase ready-made tortillas in this size or cut down larger ones to fit.
Step 2. Next, crush the nacho chips in another bowl. Using the BBQ sauce as an adhesive, stick the crushed chips onto the tortillas. Then, arrange them on an oven rack such that they form a cradle shape after baking.
Bake the prepared tortillas in an oven preheated to 338 degrees Fahrenheit for about 15 minutes.
Step 3. While the tortillas are baking, prepare the fillings for your tacos. Chop the vegetables into small pieces and grate the cheddar cheese. In a hot frying pan, cook the ground beef with Mexican seasoning and salt.
Step 4. Once all the components are ready, start assembling your tacos. Spoon your homemade dip onto the toasted tortillas (feel free to experiment with different flavor combinations), then layer on the chopped romaine lettuce, cooked beef, shredded cheddar, black beans, red onion, and corn.
Step 5. Lastly, arrange the filled tacos on a plate and drizzle them with more of the dip. Garnish with chunks of cherry tomatoes and they're ready to be served. Enjoy!
