Most people are familiar with what has happened to Bruce Willis. Last year, in March, his daughter revealed that the star was suffering from aphasia, leading him to retire from his career. Nevertheless, fans in the US can once again enjoy Willis on the big screen in the movie "Die Hard".

In light of the upcoming Christmas holidays, Hollywood studios have decided to re-release two beloved holiday hits - "Die Hard" (35 years after its premiere) and "Love Actually" (20 years after its premiere). Both movies are associated with the Christmas season due to their holiday-themed plot lines. It's worth mentioning, though, that "Die Hard" was initially a summer blockbuster that debuted in July 1988.

In the box office duel of these two holiday favorites, "Die Hard" is more popular right now, grossing $934,000 in US theatres last weekend - an impressive feat for an anniversary edition. Meanwhile, ticket sales for "Love Actually" amounted to $284,000.

Beloved actor Bruce Willis, well-known for his roles on television shows like "Moonlighting," launched his impressive film career with "Die Hard". As the character John McClane, Willis presented audiences with a new type of action movie hero - an average-looking, ordinary guy caught up in extraordinary, perilous events.

Audiences gravitated toward this relatable character and his sarcastic humor, which helped the hero cope with his shocking circumstances. The lines Bruce Willis delivered have since achieved cult status.

On a related note, last Christmas, the Ministry of National Defense in Ukraine released a video featuring Bruce Willis - or, more specifically, his character John McClane. In the reworked trailer for "Die Hard," Russia was symbolized by the terrorist Hans Gruber, while John McClane represented Ukraine and its president.

Accompanying the video was the following statement: "The underdog who overcomes the villains. We all enjoy such stories. This is dedicated to all the tough guys holding the line. Ukraine will prevail! Yippee Ki-Yay…!"
