Croatia's 'Love Island' up for grabs: Heart-shaped paradise on sale for 10M Euros

Situated in Northern Dalmatia, between the city of Turanj on Croatia's mainland and the Pašman Islands, lies Galešnjak, an island of impressive stature and distinctive shape. It is often referred to as Love Island or Lovers Island. The idea of relocating to this Croatian paradise might sound appealing to many, but only a few can realistically afford such an investment.

The staggering price tag

About three hectares of this Croatian island are up for sale, and the interest level is currently quite high. Investment funds have shown the most significant interest to date, according to Silvestro Kardum, the seller's representative, in an interview with zadarski.hr.

The portion for sale spans four plots of land totaling between 344,445 and 355,209 square feet. This can all be purchased for a significant amount— $10 million. Surprisingly, each square meter amounts to almost $300.

Adriatic gem

"Owning such a property would make anyone feel truly special. This is especially true since yachts carrying guests like Beyonce and Jay Z, Jeff Bezos, and Michael Jordan regularly dock here. After all, who wouldn't want to visit a heart-shaped island?" — reads the ad.

Galešnjak has an overall area of approximately 1,528,477 square feet. Concerning the remaining parts of the island, the owners have shown no interest in selling.

Interestingly, not everyone is thrilled with the idea of the island changing hands. Some worry that the new owner might alter it substantially. "The Croatian government should immediately match the asking price and prevent any construction from happening there. This island is a national emblem - the Heart of the Adriatic," urges a social media user.
