I make mushrooms in batter when household members are looking for a snack. Two heaping plates are never enough because they disappear in the blink of an eye. Additionally, I don't have to go out of my way when shopping because the ingredient list is short and simple.

Crispy mushrooms in cheese batter: The perfect snack

Preparing crispy mushrooms in batter doesn't take much time, and it's perfect for almost any occasion. It's a solution for a "bigger hunger" or a snack for the party table. Mushrooms in a cheese batter blanket taste excellent with a light yogurt-garlic or herbal sauce, as well as with vegetable pastes like bell pepper or beetroot paste.

The dough with added cheese enhances the overall taste, and the aroma of thyme pairs perfectly with the mushroom notes. Mushrooms are full of umami flavor and need little else to charm you. In this version, they are flawless. The mushrooms in batter will turn out crispy if you fry them in deep oil. However, if you prefer to avoid fried dishes, you can bake them in the oven for 10 minutes at a high temperature (about 390-450°F).
