Series of fires in Crimea
At the beginning of June, it was reported that the number of dry grass fires in Crimea is increasing. Local services warn that these fires spread quickly and are accompanied by much smoke. Since April 17, a special fire regime has been in effect throughout Crimea. Actions have been taken to prevent the spread of fires and reduce the risk of potential crises in the region.
"The increase in the number of fires in the Republic of Crimea is already over 25 percent. There have already been about 1,600 fires this year, compared to 1,200 during the same period last year. This year, 37 people have already died in fires," said Colonel of the Internal Service Igor Skurtul.
