Often, the simplest steps lead to the most pleasing results. With this mentality in mind, we start creating this wafer cake, the recipe of which you will encounter shortly. With an explosion of creativity, I immediately fell for this recipe. I put it into action, and the results were incredibly tasty. The secret lies in simplicity and the selection of staple candy bars from your local store.

The best option for the mentioned wafers can be elongated, thin, chocolate bars. You can use Prince Polo or any other brands that fit in this criterion. Apart from that, you'll need some tangy jam and graham crackers. That's it! No laborious kneading of dough or timing your baking spree. In fact, you won't need to switch on your oven at all. This recipe is truly a dream come true for a no-bake cake lover. Do give it a shot and share your experience!

No-bake wafer cake

Ingredients:

  • About 10.5 oz of graham crackers,
  • 6 wafers bars with nut or cocoa cream - like Prince Polo,
  • About 1 quart of 30% cream,
  • 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar,
  • 6 teaspoons of gelatine,
  • 1 jar of tangy jam (preferably homemade?).

Instructions:

  1. Combine the gelatin with 1/3 cup of cold water. Set it aside to swell while you prepare the rest of the cake.
  2. Arrange a layer of graham crackers at the bottom of a pan. Layer them with jam, then another layer of crackers.
  3. Whip the cream (chilled) with powdered sugar. Gradually incorporate the swelled, gently heated gelatine into the mixture, without stopping the whisking. Crush up the wafers and mix 2/3 of them into the cream. Stir evenly.
  4. Spoon the cream mixture over the last layer of graham crackers. Scatter the remaining crushed wafers on top. Gently even it out and place it in the fridge. Let it set for at least 12, or preferably 24, hours. Enjoy your masterpiece dessert!
