Court awards $660 for ex blocking access to shared husky
A woman will receive $660 in compensation after her ex-partner prevented her from contacting their shared Husky dog for 10 months. It all happened in the capital of Spain - Madrid.

The Spanish press reported on Tuesday (October 1) that a court in Madrid awarded compensation to a woman whose ex-partner deprived her of the possibility to see their dog. The man, against her will, took full care of the pet, preventing the woman from contacting the animal.
The capital court assessed the woman’s moral damage at $660, and her ex-partner was also charged with the costs of the court proceedings.
The ruling highlighted that "an intense sentimental bond had developed between the woman and the dog, as they had lived together since it was a puppy".
This is the first ruling of its kind by a Spanish court - emphasizes the newspaper "El Pais". "The judiciary has ruled in cases of pet adoption in a similar way to child cases, giving priority to the interest and welfare of the animal," adds the Spanish newspaper.

The court noted that the former couple from Spain will now alternately take care of the animal and jointly share the costs of its food, grooming, vaccinations, and veterinary visits.
