Coup in Ukraine? Commander refers to "useful idiots"
The Kremlin allegedly seeks to instigate a rebellion in Ukraine and oust the current president. This claim, made by Volodymyr Zelenskyy this week, suggests there are "useful idiots" in Ukraine who are being manipulated by Russian special services. However, the commander of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army, Dmytro Yarosh, commented that their impact is marginal and will never be significant.
According to Zelenskyy, Moscow's goal is to stir societal discord and generate disorder in Ukraine, including efforts to remove him from power. He disclosed that this Russian scheme is code-named "Maidan 3".
"Our intelligence has gathered information, also conferred by our partners," said Zelenskyy.
Dmytro Yarosh shared his views on the intelligence report via social media. "Russia may seem content with illusions and persist in planning internal destabilization of Ukraine, but none of their strategies would succeed," he wrote.
He further noted, "There might be well-placed 'useful idiots' in Ukraine who fall under Russian special services' manipulation, yet their effect on the overall situation is minimal and not decisive."
Yarosh reflected on previous Maidan protests in Kyiv, claiming them to be organic occurrences, not artificially induced events. "The Maidan represents a struggle for national freedom, not a charade directed by foreign special services," stressed Yarosh.
The Ukrainian Volunteer Army commander also underscored that "the vast majority of those revolting are occupied with combating Russian invaders." "Consequently, there is no risk of a pro-Russian coup in Ukraine today," he concluded.
