To many women, Kate Middleton is a source of inspiration and a role model. The 41-year-old wife of Prince William is widely loved and respected. However, the same cannot be said for her parents, who have recently faced public disapproval.
In June, British media revealed that the company owned by Carole and Michael Middleton, primarily engaged in supplying party accessories, was deep in debt. According to the British newspaper "Daily Mail", the Middletons owed over $845,000 to the treasury and the total company debt amounted to over $3,440,000. The financial downfall was reportedly due to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as existing loans.
Ultimately, Carole and Michael decided to declare bankruptcy and sell "Party Pieces" to a businessman from Essex, James Sinclair. However, this did not resolve their debt issues as creditors demanded their money back. The area surrounding the Middleton's Bucklebury home became a hub for inflammatory posters targeting them. The posters were placed by suppliers insisting on receiving payments they were owed from the company before it declared bankruptcy.
The posters held claims of fraud and demands for repayment of debt. Creditors were further outraged when the Middletons were seen leading a seemingly carefree life, all while their obligations remained unmet.
Duchess Kate's parents face further accusations
Another individual has joined the campaign against the Duchess's parents: 23-year-old Molly alleges that the bankruptcy of "Party Pieces" forced her to seek income in the adult industry. Posters featuring Molly were found throughout Bucklebury, including on property belonging to Kate's sister, Pippa Middleton.
The posters depict Molly posing in a pink bra, advertising a "50% discount" on her photos. The posters also held a message about the Middletons.
"This is what I've turned to! The company I used to work at has now let me go. This is because Party Pieces Holdings LTD have not paid their creditors!" - reads the poster's message.
Molly clarified to "The Sun" that her intention was not to promote her OnlyFans profile but rather to communicate her desperation after the company's bankruptcy left her without a livelihood.
"The point needs to be made that if you don’t pay your creditors, it doesn’t just affect one person, it affects all employees of the company. Hence why I say I was made redundant because of this. It’s not part of a promo, but as you can see by the photo, it would be a great publicity stunt for me. I understand how this looks to the public and how the public feels about OnlyFans creators, but I was at rock bottom," Molly stated.
Affronted by the posters, locals began removing them.
"There were posters everywhere — all across the farm gates and even at the church. It’s not right for a semi-nude model to be plastered all over our lovely village," notes a displeased Bucklebury resident.
