Colorado home buyer finds body of missing teen in freezer
United States. A resident of Colorado discovered that the freezer in a newly purchased house contained the body of a young girl. It turns out the remains had been there for 19 years. Investigators have confirmed the identity of the deceased.
It is now known that the body found in January belongs to 16-year-old Amanda Overstreet. It should be noted that the freezer contained the head and hands of the teenager. Investigators identified a bullet hole on the girl's forehead. Initial findings suggest the girl was shot and then dismembered. The gruesome murder was an execution.
The body of the 16-year-old was found by a man who bought the Grand Junction house in Colorado in 2023. The buyer purchased the property from 55-year-old Leanne Imer. The "Daily Mail" reports that the building was in terrible condition. No one had lived there for a long time, and it required extensive repairs.
The buyer was cleaning his purchased house and found a working freezer in the garage. When he opened it, he saw Amanda Overstreet's body. The Mesa County Sheriff's Office has opened an investigation into the girl, who had been missing for years. DNA tests have already confirmed her identity.
The 16-year-old was the daughter of the previous owner
Amanda Overstreet was last seen in April 2005. The girl was the daughter of the previous owner of the house and was declared missing. Currently, investigators are following various leads in her murder case.
The mother of the 16-year-old maintains that Amanda was on a car trip with her stepfather. She was said to have disappeared during the trip. Investigators can't directly verify Leanne Imer's words because Bradley Imer, Amanda Overstreet's stepfather, died in 2021 due to COVID-19.
