A passerby found dozens of pounds of cocaine on a beach on one of the Florida Keys islands after Hurricane Debby passed through, reported the border guard in Miami.

A photo of the confiscated 25 packages of drugs was shared on the platform X by local border guard representative Samuel Briggs.

According to his report, a random passerby found 70 pounds of cocaine and contacted the authorities.

Catastrophic hurricane strike

On Monday, Debby hit the coasts of Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, causing the deaths of five people. Since then, the hurricane has weakened and become a tropical storm.

The accompanying rainfall is causing floods and inundations. Rescue operations are ongoing, involving hundreds of people whose homes have been submerged.
