Without a doubt, Lítla Dímun is one of the world's most enigmatic and extraordinary islands. Characterized by unusual meteorological conditions, it continuously fascinates everyone with its cloud cover.

This small island, part of the Faroe Islands, draws attention from people all over the globe. Its green slopes are almost always capped with a cloud, creating an extraordinarily charming view.

Many travelers, photographers, and tourists dream of seeing Lítla Dímun with their own eyes at least once.

Extraordinary island in the Norwegian Sea

Lítla Dímun is not only the smallest but also the only uninhabited island in the Faroe Islands archipelago. Its area is just 203 acres, and only sheep inhabit it.

For many, the attraction is enough to sail close to its shores or admire the fairy-tale view from neighboring islands. However, there's no shortage of daredevils who aspire to set foot on the island. This endeavor requires not only favorable weather conditions but also solid physical fitness. Its shores are cliffs, a challenge even for experienced climbers.

A city on the top?

The characteristic cloud hovering over Lítla Dímun effectively covers its peak. When it's clear, the island has a conical shape.

There is even a legend that suggests the peak is hidden in the clouds and that between the clouds, there is a city of happy people.

Lenticular cloud not only over Lítla Dímun

Though impressive, the phenomenon over the island is actually a lenticular cloud, which often appears over mountain peaks.
