The accumulation of dirt, liquid residues, and hair can not only cause problems with water flow but also lead to unpleasant odors. Fortunately, there are methods that can unclog the drain in just a few moments.

How to unclog a clogged drain? Try home solutions

Drains, whether in the bathroom or kitchen, become clogged due to accumulated debris. In sinks, the problem is usually food remnants, grounds, seeds, and grease. For shower drains, the issues are typically hair, cosmetic residues, and hard water deposits. Many products for unclogging pipes can be found in stores. However, before spending money, let's see how the methods below work.

Prepare half a cup of baking soda and half a cup of vinegar. First, pour the baking soda into the drain, then pour the vinegar over it. When you combine these two ingredients, a chemical reaction will occur quickly, unclogging the pipes and removing accumulated residue. This method will also neutralize unpleasant odors in the bathroom caused by dirt in the drain. To let the ingredients work, leave them in the drain for fifteen minutes, then pour hot water.

The second equally effective method is a mixture of water and regular table salt. Dissolve a few tablespoons of the salt in about 2 cups of hot water and pour the mixture into the drain. Again, leave the mixture for fifteen minutes, then rinse everything with running water.
