Clean your kitchen hood: Easy tips for a fresh-smelling home
Cleaning the kitchen hood is an important task that many people forget about. However, if we cook often, the hood not only gets dirty but also starts to smell unpleasant. How can we clean it using household methods?
The kitchen is a place that should be exceptionally clean. While most people remember to regularly clean this room, we often forget to thoroughly wash the kitchen hood. This is particularly true for those who frequently cook using vibrant and intense spices.
How to clean the kitchen hood?
A dirty and foul-smelling kitchen hood is not pleasant. Therefore, cleaning it systematically should be something we do at least once a week if we cook often. If we cook only occasionally, we can clean the hood components, for example, once a month.
What can we use to clean the kitchen hood? Fortunately, we don't need expensive chemical agents for this; we can use items we probably already have at home: water, distilled vinegar, baking soda, and mild dish soap.
Pour three cups of warm water and one cup of distilled vinegar into a container. Then add a cup of baking soda and half a cup of dish soap. Mix everything thoroughly.
How to clean the kitchen hood?
Start cleaning the kitchen hood by turning off the device and wiping the housing with a cloth soaked in the degreasing mixture. Then remove the aluminum filter and apply the mixture to it with a soft sponge. Place the filter in a tub or sink filled with hot water.
Soak the filter for about 15 minutes. After this time, gently scrub it with a sponge soaked in the mixture, rinse, and dry. You can also spray the hood's internal components with the solution. Leave it on for about 15 minutes, and then wipe it with a damp cloth. Finally, reattach the filter. Even old, sticky grease should come off the hood.
