The public confrontation between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk, the world's wealthiest individual, has sparked worry among those working at the Government Efficiency Department (DOGE). According to "The Wall Street Journal," employees fear their jobs might be in jeopardy.

Following the exchange of criticisms between Trump and Musk, DOGE has lost some supporters. James Fishback, an early advisor to the department, sided with the President, criticizing the entrepreneur for his conduct. Steve Bannon, a former Trump advisor, also criticized the Tesla owner, calling the DOGE initiative a failure.

DOGE asserts that its actions have led to a $180 billion reduction in expenditures. However, budget experts question these figures, further complicating matters. Although Musk pledged significant savings by reducing waste and abuse, these assurances are now under scrutiny.

The clash between Musk and Trump

On Thursday, a public conflict erupted between Musk and Trump over a budget bill, labeled by the billionaire as "One Big Beautiful Bill" or simply "big bill."

Musk accused Trump of wanting to increase the budget deficit and entrap Americans in "debt slavery." The President countered his generous donor, attributing Musk's anger to the end of electric vehicle purchase subsidies.

Musk called for Trump's impeachment and accused the president of having his name on "Epstein's list"—a list allegedly associated with underage exploitation by billionaire Jeffrey Epstein.
