Controversial American rapper Lil Nas X has recently released a music video for his single "J Christ". In the video, he stifles various biblical characters, including Noah steering the Ark through tumultuous waters and featuring Jesus Christ on the cross. Furthermore, he defies the devil's henchmen in a one-on-one basketball game.

Despite some Christian rappers and religious groups expressing distaste for the song and its music video, the Church of Satan holds a diametrically contrasted stance. Satanic preacher David Harris, in an interview with TMZ, praised the clip as "fantastic".

Lil Nas X has charmed the Church of Satan

Harris recognizes Lil Nas X's portrayal of his virality, drawing parallels to the faith of Satanists in "lesser magic". Anton LaVey, the founder of the Church of Satan, described lesser magic as "deception and cunning achieved through various devices and contrived situations, which after execution facilitate change according to one's will".

The preacher posits that the rapper has the talent to influence people, thus enriching himself financially. Despite Lil Nas X's unflattering representation of Satan in his music video, Harris harbors no resentment. The preacher clarifies that his church doesn't venerate Satan but encourages authenticity, individual success, and pursuing a fulfilled life.

Harris also presented evidence to back his perspective. He had previously sanctioned the "Montero" music video, regardless of its undesired depiction of Satan. He also lauded the scene where Lil Nas X triumphs over the devil and claims his crown.

Harris's only suggestion for Lil Nas X pertains to the duration of the video. "J Christ" was too fleeting for him. According to the preacher, the rapper has enough talent to helm a feature-length film on a similar theme. Would you like to watch such a cinematic representation of the eternal battle between good and evil?
