Once labeled a "Hollywood pretty boy," Chris Pine has decisively changed his image. Now, he presents a completely transformed appearance, barely recognizable as his former self.
The movie "Poolman", directed by Chris Pine and starring in the lead role, recently premiered. The comedy delves into the life of Darren Barrenman (Chris Pine), an unlucky dreamer and would-be philosopher who leads a simple life as a pool cleaner in the Tahitian Tiki apartment complex in sunny Los Angeles.
In his free time, he hangs out with his neighbors, played by Anette Benning and Danny Devito, with whom he loves to disrupt city council sessions. Barrenman finds himself entangled in criminal intrigue by a mysterious woman who hires him as a private detective. The main character uncovers a corruption scandal at the city hall and decides to wage war against the corrupt officials.
The Independent reports that Chris Pine’s directorial debut was a flop. The film received terrible reviews, and viewers even walked out of theaters during the premiere. Pine, in preparation for his role, underwent a dramatic transformation. The "Star Trek" and "Wonder Woman" star is barely recognizable.
