China's humanoid robots: Reshaping the future of warfare

The Chinese army is intensively developing technology and investing in humanoid robots. The "ChatGPT for robotics" project is aimed at enabling modern machines to perform various tasks for humans in real time using AI. However, many concerns arise regarding the unpredictability of machines and potential hacker attacks. How will humanoids shape the face of warfare?

Successes in the development of artificial intelligence inspire the Chinese army to pursue new technologies. For this reason, China is intensively developing humanoid robots, which are being created for military purposes, among others. According to Defense One, these advanced machines may soon become a key element on the battlefield, offering versatility, scalability, and increased survivability.

Humanoid robots, such as Tiangong Ultra, are already capable of overcoming various obstacles and navigating diverse terrains. Due to their extraordinary capabilities, the Chinese army recognizes their potential in military applications. Their adaptive capabilities are influenced by advanced AI, which makes them increasingly proficient at handling different environments and even cooperating with humans.

Strategic benefits for the military

The Chinese army sees three main benefits from using humanoid robots: versatility, the potential for mass deployment, and the ability to survive in difficult conditions. These robots can act as support for soldiers and also as decoys, drawing enemy fire.

Despite promising possibilities, experts point out challenges related to trust in AI and vulnerability to hacker attacks. There is a concern that the robots may act unpredictably, posing a risk on the battlefield.

The future of humanoid robots

China holds 63% of the global supply chain for humanoid robots. The nation is investing in the humanoid robot industry and is striving for further development of this technology. Government-supported initiatives aim to make China a leader in the field of robotics.
