Chaos in France. Urgent evacuation of airports, people are disoriented
Evacuations prompted by a "threat of attack" took place at many French airports. All the actions occurred on the same day, on Wednesday, after receiving emails about a possible threat.
As the AFP agency reported, passengers at French airports: in Lille, Lyon, Nantes, Nice, Toulouse and Beauvais were evacuated so that city authorities could "clarify any doubts" related to email messages that were delivered to the ports on Wednesday morning.
After a few hours, foreign media reported on the evacuation of two more airports - Biarritz and Pau.
A total of eight French airports were put on alert - reported by Reuters agency.
The threats were sent by email. At some airports, the alarm was about suspicious packages.
Aftermath of Hamas Actions
Wednesday's activities at airports occurred after a series of other bomb threats that appeared in France after the terrorist group Hamas' attack in the Gaza Strip, on October 7.
Additionally, on Friday, October 13, one of the teachers in the northern city of Arras was stabbed by a man who claimed to be a member of the Islamic State.
They do not provide details
The spokesperson for the French DGAC aviation office did not provide any details about the evacuation, other than that the actions were related to bomb threats.
In the case of the airport in Nice, information appeared on Twitter about a suspicious package located on the premises. "A safety zone was established after the package was abandoned to allow for standard checks," it was reported. After a certain amount of time, a note was made available stating, "the situation has returned to normal."
In turn, news came from Lille Airport that three flights have been delayed, while security forces are working on site.
According to social media reports, passengers felt disoriented and were not always aware of what was the cause of the evacuation.
