At the end of 2022, Celine Dion received a devastating diagnosis. The singer suffers from Stiff-Person Syndrome, also known as generalized stiffness syndrome, a rare and incurable neurological disorder that causes uncontrolled muscle spasms. Due to her health issues, she had to completely give up public performances and cancel the remaining part of her "Courage World Tour".

Celine Dion is fighting to regain her abilities and is undergoing rehabilitation and treatment. She still hopes to stand on stage before her fans. She discussed her difficult battle with the disease in the documentary "I Am: Celine Dion". Its grand premiere took place on June 17 in New York. The film's biggest star could not be absent during the event.

I will return to the stage, even if I have to crawl… Even if I have to speak with my hands. I will - she said during the premiere.

One of the movie's scenes, which lasts nearly 10 minutes, is particularly memorable. In it, we see the moment when the artist experiences an episode. We can see how painful each situation is for her. She can't move or speak, and tears of immense pain appear in her eyes. Medical intervention is also necessary. It is one of the many very intimate scenes in the film.

It is a raw, intimate portrait of an artist at a pivotal moment in her life – said Jennifer Salke, the head of the production company that made the film.
