Carrie Underwood's a cappella saves Trump inauguration mishap
Unexpected technical problems occurred during President Donald Trump's inauguration ceremony. Singer Carrie Underwood didn't receive the music for the song "America the Beautiful," which she was supposed to perform.
After Donald Trump's swearing-in and inaugural speech, country star Carrie Underwood was slated to perform briefly. The music started but stopped suddenly, spreading confusion among the event's participants.
The surprised artist waited for the malfunction to be fixed for a while. Eventually, she decided to sing without the backing track.
"I'll just sing, you know the words," said Carrie Underwood, and she sang a cappella.
"America the Beautiful" is a well-known American patriotic song, previously performed by artists such as Ray Charles. There were once plans to make it the second anthem of the United States. However, that did not happen.
